Just look at the goals scored this season. Chelsea finished third in the table, as they did in the goals scored count.

But the dropoff from the top two to Chelsea – 99, 94 and 76, shows the gap between the Blues and their title rivals.

The gap of 18 points is ultimately what matters, but that won’t be closed until we start scoring a similar number of goals.
