Manchester United are winless in three Premier League matches and will look to get back to winning ways on Wednesday when they host Brentford at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils have slipped down to fourth place after their most recent match, which was a 2-0 loss to Newcastle. That result pulled the teams level on 50 points, but the Magpies now hold on to third place due to a superior goal differential.
Despite the setback, manager Erik ten Hag has faith that his side can rebound against Brentford.

That was good, first half despite the choir of boo boys on here you could see improvement in terms of patterns of play and organisation, defensively there were issues with intially Dalot and Fred/McTominay making mistakes under pressure in deeper areas and attacking players not clinical enough with their touches, giving Brentford opportunities to counter. United also weren’t moving the ball quick enough to open up spaces in midfield to play passes into the attacking players and were struggling to be controlled under pressure.
Second half, they moved the ball quicker and defensively were better with fewer mistakes, they were able to find the attacking players who were making runs in the first half but couldn’t get passes into them, a couple of quick moves to exploit the space created and some good goals.
Tactically totally the right decisions made, there were defensive frailties and having Ronaldo up top meant they couldn’t apply pressure from the front, Brentford were making spaces by dragging players wide and switching to a back 5 allowed them to plug the gaps whilst giving them the ability to get wide players up the pitch and pressure the backline, bit of panic in the box when McTominay went off injured perhaps lapse in organisation lead to goal but overall a great display, tactics and drilling starting to come together and better game management.
