Reportedly, the deal comes with a €100 million signing bonus, guaranteed football salary of €90 million, and enough endorsement deals to bring the total to a whopping €200 million every year, the biggest salary in the history of soccer. Does that sound like the salary of a man no football club wants? Hardly.

Now, Ronaldo has declined enough to make him less valuable for the biggest clubs, like Real Madrid or Manchester United, but there are hundreds of clubs in the world with money to pay that don’t have anyone as talented as Ronaldo. He’s still a quality starting player. With Al Nassr, he can continue extending his goalscoring records. After all, the Saudi Pro League is much less competitive than the Premier League or La Liga.

Ronaldo’s drama with Manchester United hasn’t helped. He tried to get traded to a Champions League team, failed, lost his starting spot as a result, and it went downhill from there. Clubs don’t love drama if they can avoid it, and it’s no surprise Manchester opted to let Ronaldo go. He wasn’t contributing enough to the team to justify keeping him.

All that to say, Ronaldo’s still in demand and landed the biggest soccer deal ever playing for a solid Saudi Arabian team. Reportedly, he even turned down an offer from an American team. He just doesn’t have a place with the best teams anymore.
