Arsenal and Newcastle are both keen on signing Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot, according to reports in the Italian media.

While the two teams are said to be interested in the France international, Juve are reluctant to let him leave unless they receive a significant fee for the player.

Rabiot has featured pretty regularly under manager Max Allegri, having started ten out of 16 Serie A matches so far this campaign, but his current deal with the Bianconeri expires in just over eighteen months’ time.

The Gunners were first mentioned as a potential destination for Rabiot all the way back in 2014 when Arsene Wenger was still manager. The 26-year-old was at Paris Saint-Germain at the time, but he eventually opted to make the switch to Juventus on a free transfer in 2019.

Rabiot has since been linked with Chelsea and Manchester United, although the midfielder has never been close to leaving Italy, despite being in and out of the team over the past two and a half years.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is likely to be keen on strengthening his midfield options. Mohamed Elneny is out of contract next summer, while Ainsley Maitland-Niles’ lack of game time may lead to him departing as well.
