Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno will be sold if the Gunners receive a satisfactory bid for the German international in the January transfer window, according to Eurosport.

The 29-year-old has lost his place to Aaron Ramsdale and it is believed that the London club are “open to offers” for the keeper they signed from Bayer Leverkusen for £22.5m three years ago.

Leno’s current deal with Arsenal expires in 2023 and, with the player unlikely to sign an extension, it appears the decision has been made to cut him loose.

As well as Leno’s contract situation, part of the reason why the Gunners are so open to letting him leave is the club’s transfer policy of signing younger players.

Ramsdale is 23, six years younger than Leno, and after some impressive early performances, it is believed that he is seen as the long-term solution for manager Mikel Arteta between the sticks.

A move back to Germany is thought to be the likeliest outcome for Leno and we shall see what bids arrive in the New Year.
