Arsenal have been scouting Real Sociedad’s Alexander Isak, Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Lille’s Jonathan David, Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins and Lyon’s Bruno Guimaraes, according to the Evening Standard.

The Gunners are looking to sign a striker and a holding midfielder but their preference would be to hold off on any deals until the summer transfer window. However, if some players do decide to leave the Emirates before the end of the month, that stance could change.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Sead Kolasinac and Folarin Balogun have all been tipped to leave on loan or on a permanent basis in January.

At the moment, Maitland-Niles is the closest to leaving, with talks over a switch to Roma currently underway, while Balogun seems certain to make a temporary move to a Championship side in order to get game time.

The future of Aubameyang remains up in the air, and any transfer may have to be delayed until he returns from the African Cup of Nations.
