Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain are both “willing to go to £100m” in order to sign RB Leipzig forward Christopher Nkunku, according to The Independent.

Leipzig have slapped a sky-high price tag on the France international in order to ward off potential suitors and, while it has deterred the likes of Manchester United, it hasn’t discouraged Mikel Arteta’s side.

Nkunku has been a long-term target for the Gunners, having been first linked during Unai Emery’s time as manager. The player was then at PSG and he eventually made the €13m switch to Leipzig in the summer of 2019.

The 24-year-old is now valued at nine times what the Bundesliga club paid for him, but his record last season was seriously impressive, scoring 35 goals and providing 19 assists in all competitions.

It would be a huge outlay for Arsenal, considering they are not in the Champions League but, if Nkunku is interested in joining, it appears they would push the boat out with a club-record fee.
