It appears that Arsenal are considering one of two possible options as they seek competition for number one Bernd Leno this summer.
After holding initial talks with Sheffield United about Aaron Ramsdale, it appears they have also made an enquiry for West Brom’s Sam Johnstone in recent days.
Supporters on Twitter have been debating whether Johnstone should be the Gunners’ number one target or if they should be looking at different options such as Ajax’s Andre Onana:
SJ is a better option

If Johnstone is £10m why don’t we just go for onana who’s £10m??

Johnstone would certainly be a cheap option, considering his contract with the Baggies expires at the end of the season, but there are many who feel that Onana could prove to be an economical alternative as well.
However, it is understandable why technical director Edu and manager Mikel Arteta have cooled their interest in the Cameroon international. His doping ban means he won’t be available until November and he will be away at the African Cup of Nations in January.
