Arsenal have opened talks with the agent of Real Madrid winger Marco Asensio, according to reports in the English media.
The Spaniard, who has been capped 28 times by his country, has a year left on his contract and there is an expectation that the player will reject an extension from Real as it doesn’t meet his demands.
With a move away from the Bernabeu a possibility, the Gunners could well be one of Asensio’s potential destinations and supporters on Twitter have been discussing the prospect of the London club signing the 26-year-old:

Asensio is a better upgrade to Pepe and a strong competition for Saka

It is believed that Asensio would demand assurances in terms of his game time, after not being a regular starter for Real last season.
The lack of Champions League football could also prove an obstacle when it comes to securing the transfer, as the player is likely to have other options, with the likes of AC Milan, Tottenham and Manchester United having been mentioned as potential suitors too.
