Arsenal fan Piers Morgan has called on manager Mikel Arteta to go after the Gunners’ humiliating 5-0 defeat to Manchester City yesterday afternoon.
The former journalist and TV presenter says he is not solely basing his judgement on this season’s performances but also on the Gunners’ poor form last campaign:
Bottom of the League.
Three games, three losses.
9 goals conceded, 0 scored.
This after our worst season for decades & failing to qualify for any European competition.

From the sound of things, there is no real chance that Arteta will be sacked during the international break, with a string of four fixtures next month likely to decide his fate.
Arsenal go up against Norwich City and Burnley in the league, before a match in the Carabao Cup versus AFC Wimbledon. They end September with the North London derby against Tottenham at the Emirates.
If the Gunners’ form shows no signs of improvement then it is very likely that the Kroenke’s will pull the trigger. With fans turning on Arteta, it is going to be an uphill challenge for the Spaniard to keep his job.
