BBC pundit Micah Richards has praised Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic after watching the Serbian international in action.
Richards, who has played for the Serie A club, claims that the 21-year-old possesses extraordinary pace and a lethal left foot that will threaten any opposition defence:
“I have watched him a couple of times now. He is lightning. It’s ridiculous. He has got 16 in 18 this season. His left foot is like a wand. I am telling you now, he is everything, he is everything you need.”
Arsenal are believed to be interested in Vlahovic, along with the likes of Tottenham, Manchester City, Manchester United and Juventus but the Gunners are not at the front of the queue.
Reports in Italy in recent weeks have suggested that the London club could be willing to match the forward’s €80m (£68m) asking price but the player is not keen on a switch to the Emirates.
It is thought that Arsenal will press on in their striker search, regardless of Vlahovic’s interest. The fallout surrounding Pierre Emerick Aubameyang’s loss of the captaincy means a replacement for the Gabonese international will need to be found.
The likes of Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Lille’s Jonathan David, FC Basel’s Arthur Cabral and Atletico Madrid’s Joao Felix have all been linked with the Gunners.
