Ex-Arsenal striker Kevin Campbell has backed his former club’s plans to sign Leicester midfielder Youri Tielemans next summer.

Goal correspondent Charles Watts, who is a reliable source when it comes to the Gunners, reported last month that Edu has already held talks with the 24-year-old’s agent, and Campbell thinks the player would be an excellent addition to Mikel Arteta’s squad:

“I believe there might be a little player at Leicester that we like. We really like.Tielemans. I think we like the look of Tielemans. I would take Tielemans in the summer. I really would.”

Tielemans, who has 47 caps for Belgium, would undoubtedly be a superb signing and he would strengthen Arsenal in the middle of the park, where they have a serious lack of depth.

With the Leicester star’s contract set to expire in 2023 as well, he won’t cost an exorbitant amount of money either, so you’d have to think that the Gunners will make a formal approach for him at the end of the season.

Other teams are likely to get involved too, with Manchester United and Liverpool having been linked in the past, but it seems some of the groundwork has already been laid for the move to the Emirates.
