
The Spanish publication claims that Chelsea and Manchester United are also said to be keen on the centre-back and, while no bids have been tabled yet, Sevilla’s sporting director Monchi feels it is “just a matter of time” before that changes.
Reports in the English media last week suggested that the Gunners were interested in Kounde and it appears they are lining up a formal approach for the 22-year-old.
Whether they can match Sevilla’s demands for the player, it remains to be seen. Marca say that €65m (£56m) is the amount being talked about at the moment, which would break the Spanish club’s record for a transfer fee received.
It is a figure which may prove too much for Arsenal, especially if they are also going after the likes Emi Buendia and Yves Bissouma. We shall see how this transfer story develops.
