Arsenal centre-back Rob Holding did not make the matchday squad for the win over Norwich City due to a knee injury.

The 25-year-old has a bruised patella (kneecap) and he is currently rated at 50/50 to return for the trip to Burnley this weekend.

Mohamed Elneny is currently sidelined with a hamstring strain and the club’s medical staff have estimated that the Egyptian international will be back in full training within the next two weeks.

It means that the 29-year-old won’t feature against Burnley or in the Carabao Cup tie versus AFC Wimbledon next week. There is, however, an outside chance that he’ll be in contention for the North London derby.

Granit Xhaka picked up the virus on international break and his self-isolation period ended on Saturday. He will be returning to the UK very shortly to start training once more with his teammates. Due to suspension, though, his next game could well be the clash against Tottenham on September 26th.
