Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka was substituted with 25 minutes to go in the 2-0 win over Newcastle yesterday afternoon.

It is believed that the 20-year-old sustained a quad injury with manager Mikel Arteta confirming the player will undergo a scan today to determine the seriousness of the problem.

Saka is now in a race against time to be fit for the game against Manchester United, with the Gunners travelling to Old Trafford on Thursday evening.

Granit Xhaka is progressing well in his recovery from a medial knee ligament tear. The medical department have estimated his return date for December and Arteta is confident that the Swiss international won’t be out for too much longer.

The midfielder has already been out for two months after picking up the injury in the 3-1 win against Tottenham back in September.

Sead Kolasinac is expected to be out until January after suffering a serious ankle injury whilst playing for Bosnia in the last international break.
