Michael Owen is expecting Arsenal to get back to winning ways when they take on Southampton tomorrow afternoon.

Despite the Gunners losing their last two matches, Owen believes their opponents are struggling with their own form issues and he thinks Mikel Arteta’s side will get the three points at St Mary’s:

“Just when I was beginning to trust this Arsenal side, they’ve now gone and lost two in a row! The pressure is now firmly on them, and they really can’t afford any more dropped points. The big worry is that the goals have really dried up. Just two goals in their last four, that’s not going to get them in the top four. I’m picking Arsenal though. Southampton were all over the place last week, I don’t think we’ll see much improvement here.”

Owen has gone with a 2-0 win to Arsenal, which seems like a fair prediction, although the London club’s recent performances do suggest that this could be a struggle.

As Owen mentions, the Gunners have been labouring in front of goal recently so opening the scoring early on against the Saints could be crucial to getting the win.

After losing 6-0 at home against Chelsea last weekend, you would have to think that Southampton’s players won’t be at their most confident but there is always a danger that manager Ralph Hasenhuttl will get a reaction out of them. Whatever the case may be, though, Arsenal will still need to be on song to come away with the victory.
