Michael Owen is expecting a stalemate when Arsenal face West Ham at the Emirates tomorrow night.

The BT Sport pundit says he finds it hard to predict the Gunners due to their inconsistency and he feels that the Hammers will do enough to secure a point against Mikel Arteta’s side:

“I never quite know what to expect from Arsenal. They were poor at Goodison last Monday and then cruised to the win against Southampton. This is a great chance for them though, a win here will see them jump above the Hammers. Away trips to Burnley are never easy, but David Moyes will still be disappointed to have come away with just the one point. West Ham are still fourth, but the chasing pack is closing on them. West Ham will be desperate not to lose this game and will try and keep things tight. I can see them frustrating Arsenal and getting a point here.”

Owen has gone with a 1-1 draw, which seems like a rather poor prediction, considering how strong Arsenal have been at home so far this season.

Arteta’s men have the joint best home record in the entire division, having only dropped points to Crystal Palace and Chelsea in eight matches so far.

Of course, West Ham will be a stern test. They have shown themselves to be strong on the road. However, a 0-0 draw against relegation-threatened Burnley last time out is not that impressive (despite what Owen says). It will be a tight game tomorrow but the Gunners should be slight favourites for the match.
