Arsenal are interested in signing Southampton right-back Tino Livramento, according to CBS Sports journalist Ben Jacobs.
The reporter was speaking to Arsenal442.com about the Gunners’ summer transfer targets when he mentioned that the England Under 21 international is “on Arteta’s wish list.”
Livramento only made the switch to the Saints from Chelsea for £5m last year, and the Blues do actually have a £25m buyback option on the player, so it will be interesting to see what happens if Arsenal do make their move for the defender.
Mikel Arteta’s side are expected to be in the market for a fullback. While Cedric has done a decent job when covering for the injured Takehiro Tomiyasu, the feeling is that a more attack-minded alternative is needed for the Japanese international.
Arsenal have been heavily linked with Middlesbrough’s Djed Spence and Norwich’s Max Aarons but Livramento would definitely be a step up in terms of quality.
