Arsenal attacking midfielder Martin Odegaard put in another good performance as the Gunners thrashed Sunderland in the Carabao Cup last night.
The Norwegian international was dictating play in the middle of the park, spraying pinpoint accurate passes right across the pitch.
Supporters on Twitter were keen to recognise Odegaard’s display, who has begun to justify the £35m transfer fee that the club spent on the playmaker in the summer:
A round of applause for Martin 0dergaard.
What a great player and he’s only going to get better

After a slow start to the season, Odegaard has come into his own during recent matches. The 23-year-old has scored three goals and provided one assist in his last five league matches and, while he didn’t contribute to a goal yesterday evening, he was one of the key reasons why Arsenal scored five times and took 19 shots.
With the captain’s armband also up for grabs, Odegaard is putting his case forward for the captaincy role. If he continues to show the sort of leadership we have seen from him over the past couple of months, he could well be in the frame.
