Club Brugge now value winger Noa Lang at €40m (£34m), according to reports in Italy. It was claimed last month that Arsenal were interested in the Dutchman, with his price tag set at €22m (£19m).
However, it appears that the 22-year-old will cost a lot more than previously anticipated. The presence of AC Milan among the player’s potential suitors probably hasn’t helped matters.
Brugge will be looking to get the highest possible fee for Lang, and the more competition for the Netherlands international, the more expensive he will become.
Lang generally plays as a left-winger and, while the Gunners could do with strengthening their options attack, they already have plenty of players who can play in that role.
Emile Smith Rowe looks very comfortable on that side of the pitch, and the likes of Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Nicolas Pepe have also been deployed there. Spending £34m on Lang, therefore, doesn’t seem like a worthwhile endeavour.
