Alexandre Lacazette is expected to leave Arsenal “when the market reopens” in January, according to A BOLA.

The Portuguese tabloid claims that the Frenchman came “very close” to clinching a move in the summer, but a deal could not be finalised before the transfer window closed.

It is believed that the fact that Lacazette remained at the Emirates led to the Gunners missing out on Tammy Abraham, with Roma sealing a move for the then Chelsea striker instead.

Lacazette has only made one substitute appearance in the Premier League so far this season and he was an unused substitute in the 1-0 win over Norwich City at the weekend.

With the 30-year-old’s contract expiring at the end of the season, January would be the last opportunity to raise funds from his departure before he can leave for nothing in the summer.

A BOLA don’t go into detail about where Lacazette could end up, but they claim he is simply no longer “part of Mikel Arteta’s plans.”
