Brighton boss Graham Potter and Brentford head coach Thomas Frank have emerged as “candidates” to replace Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, according to TEAMtalk.

The website, which has a sketchy track record when it comes to reliability, claims that the Gunners are keeping tabs on the pair because they both play a brand of attacking football.

Writing before this afternoon’s game against Norwich, TEAMTalk report that technical director Edu and the London club’s board are not yet ready to give up on Arteta, but they have started to look at possible replacements.

Potter was linked with the Tottenham job earlier this summer but his contract with Brighton extends to 2025 and he is thought to be committed to the Seagulls.

Frank, meanwhile, has been at Brentford for five years, having originally started out as Dean Smith’s assistant before taking the reins in 2018. The Dane has subsequently helped the Bees gain promotion to the Premier League.
