Arsenal and Tottenham are keeping tabs on Torino right-back Wilfried Singo, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Writing in his column for CBS Sports, the Italian journalist claimed that the two North London clubs had sent scouts to watch the Ivorian international on “countless occasions” in recent months.

Singo has been linked with a move to the Premier League before, with Liverpool mentioned as a potential suitor for the defender back at the start of last year. However, it now appears that the Gunners are very much among the favourites for his signature now.

With Takehiro Tomiyasu having performed well since arriving from Bologna last summer, and with a pretty able deputy in Cedric Soares, it could be argued that manager Mikel Arteta doesn’t really need to strengthen the right-hand side of defence.

Singo is a promising young talent, though. The fullback only turned 21 in December, while his three goals and four assists in 26 appearances for Torino this campaign is pretty impressive.
