Arsenal have been in contact with Sheffield United over signing goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale, according to reports in the English media.
The Gunners are said to be prepared to pay a sizeable sum for the 23-year-old, who only moved to the Blades from Bournemouth for £18.5m last summer.
Ramsdale struggled for form after first arriving at Bramall Lane, and while his performances did pick up as the season went on, the vast majority of fans on Twitter are not convinced about signing the shot-stopper:
The arsenal board , Edu and Arteta are all mad , if they really looking at the poorest goal keeper in the EPL

Spending big money on a GK , who has been relegated twice. Also imo not in a priority position, we will be left short yet agin in key positions. Come the end of the window, this is what happens when you have a inexperienced manger. With a inexperienced sporting director.

This would be a very depressing move as he’s nothing more than bang average.

Arsenal are thought to be aiming to sign younger players this summer, and with Bernd Leno expected to leave the Emirates, it appears the London club believe Ramsdale has all the attributes necessary to develop into a good number one.
Supporters will take a lot of convincing, though, especially if the Gunners do decide to step up their interest and invest a significant amount of money in the keeper.
