Arsenal duo Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Emile Smith Rowe have been named in WhoScored.com‘s Team of the Week following their superb performances against Tottenham on Sunday.
Aubameyang scored a goal, won six aerial battles as well as three tackles, in what was an all-action display from the club captain that rolled back the years.
Smith Rowe was also deservedly included, having slotted away the opener early in the first half, before setting up Aubameyang with an excellent assist.
Wolves’ Jose Sa was named in goal by WhoScored, with Brighton’s Joe Veltman, Aston Villa’s Kortney Hause, Brentford’s Ethan Pinnock and Manchester City’s Joao Cancelo making up the back four.
In midfield, Smith Rowe is joined by Leeds’ Raphinha, Liverpool’s Curtis Jones and Everton’s Abdoulaye Doucoure, while West Ham’s Michail Antonio got a place alongside Aubameyang up front.
It is a surprise that Bukayo Saka wasn’t selected, considering he also got a goal and assist versus Spurs, but Aubameyang and Smith Rowe were more than worthy of their inclusion.
