Arsenal have not made an offer for Real Betis attacking midfielder Nabil Fekir, according to Goal journalist Charles Watts.
There had been some claims in Spain in recent days that the Gunners had a bid rejected for the France international but Watts says those reports are wide of the mark:
I know there are a few stories doing the rounds that Arsenal have bid (or had one rejected) for Nabil Fekir. I’m told that is not the case, however. There has been no bid and Arsenal haven’t firmed up their interest since some informal discussions before the window opened. pic.twitter.com/WS00lfOZIo

With the London club having missed out on Emi Buendia to Aston Villa, and Martin Odegaard looking like he will stay at Real Madrid, supporters on Twitter are wondering whether their team will sign a playmaker at all:
We will end up signing jonjo shelvey

As usual @Arsenal are deep asleep and will get up to do business when all top players are sold and bought by others

At the moment, things don’t look promising. The most reliable journalists still say that Odegaard is the club’s number one target in midfield, but it is now believed that the only way they will be able to snap up the Norwegian is if he forces his way out of the La Liga club.
There were reports of a bid for Lazio’s Joaquin Correa over the weekend but that hasn’t been substantiated by anyone in the English media.
