Celtic forward Odsonne Edouard has admitted that he is flattered by reports linking him with a move to the English Premier League.
Arsenal are said to be the team that are keeping close tabs on the France Under 21 international, and speaking about interest from other clubs, Edouard said:
“It shows you are working hard and doing the right things as a player. It is flattering. But I just concentrate on trying to play well for Celtic. That’s what I am focused on doing at the moment.”
The good news for Celtic fans is that Edouard also hinted that he was prepared to stay at Parkhead in order to secure ten league titles in a row, although he did stop short of ruling out a transfer:
“Of course, winning ten in a row is very important for the club, players and fans. I’d love to be part of it. No one knows what will happen in the future but I want to be a part of it.”
The 23-year-old was speaking after picking up his Scottish Football Writers’ Player of the Year award following a season where the £30m rated forward scored 27 goals in all competitions for the Hoops.
Edouard’s current contract expires in 2022 and it is believed the Scottish champions are looking to offer an extension. Whether he accepts it or not, will give us a true indication about his future intentions.
