Celtic manager Neil Lennon has talked to Brighton centre-back Shane Duffy about a season-long loan move to Parkhead, according to reports in the Scottish media.
The Hoops are looking to strengthen their options in the centre of defence and they have identified the Irish international as a possible candidate.
There will be competition from the likes of Burnley, West Ham and West Brom for Duffy, but supporters on Twitter are hopeful that he would choose to move to Celtic Park if he gets the opportunity:
He’d be a great signing indeed

Duffy went for a big fee a few years back and I think he would actually go right into the first team.

Duffy is known to be a Celtic fan, and he would likely jump at the chance if the opportunity arises, but the Scottish champions have yet to agree terms with Brighton for the 28-year-old.
They will need to agree a loan fee, as well as what percentage of Duffy’s wages they are prepared to pay. At the moment, it is believed the two sides are quite far apart in regards to coming to an agreement.
