Celtic wingback Jeremie Frimpong came off the bench to provide the assist for Mohamed Elyounoussi’s winning goal against Riga FC in the Europa League last night.
The Dutchman was surprisingly omitted from the starting eleven by manager Neil Lennon but was quickly in on the action after James Forrest came off injured midway through the first half of the 1-0 win.
Supporters could not understand why Frimpong was left out of the team for the match and they are calling on Lennon to keep the 19-year-old as a regular starter in upcoming games:
Best player on the pitch.

The 3-5-2 system that Lennon has employed in recent matches hasn’t really worked, with the exception of the 5-0 win against Ross County earlier this month.
Switching back to 4-3-3 would allow Frimpong to play as a fullback and would also enable Elyounoussi to return to the side as a winger. Whether we’ll see a shift in formation when the Hoops face Hibernian on Sunday, we shall have to wait and see.
