Celtic are keen on signing West Ham forward Albian Ajeti, according to reports in the UK. The Hoops are said to have enquired about the Swiss international with a view to a possible loan or permanent transfer.
The striker only joined the Hammers from FC Basel for £8m last summer but he has struggled for game time, having made just 12 appearances in all competitions.
Fans on Twitter are not sure why the club would be looking at signing another forward:
Can he play in goal ?! ?

We’re already sorted for forwards. Unless bayo or griff is getting loaned or moved on it seemsnlike strange one

If he can’t get in that side is he any good at all?.

Ajeti or Bayo. I’ll have the Bayo thanks.

Ajeti is plausible on loan. Could even be with an option to buy at the end of it.
I like the look of him..— McGuire (@McGuire_67) July 22, 2020
Because Ajeti is arguably one of the worst players I’ve ever had the misfortune of seeing live. On more than 1 occasion might I add. Picture Efe Ambrose up front

French eddy came on loan having absolutely no experience.
Elyouanossi had played 16 league games for Southampton never scored a goal or made an assist. He is in the exact same situation as Ajeti. Both ripped it up for basel both have made no impact in EPL.— Kevin Hackett (@KevinHa26255509) July 22, 2020
With Odsonne Edouard, Patryk Klimala, Leigh Griffiths and Vakoun Bayo already in the first-team squad, manager Neil Lennon is hardly short of options up front.
There are more pressing concerns in other areas of the pitch, with a goalkeeper and a centre-back both being needed more urgently.
On top of that, Ajeti has hardly looked the part when given a rare start by West Ham so it would be a surprise if he ended up a Celtic Park this summer.
