Celtic are holding talks with Brighton about selling Odsonne Edouard, according to reports in the English media.
The Seagulls have been heavily linked with a move for the 23-year-old in recent weeks, but up until now, there has been no sign that a deal was within reach.
Edouard was benched for Celtic’s Europa League qualifier against FK Jablonec last night so whether it’s a sign that a move is close, we shall have to wait and see.
There are some suggestions that a deal could go through as early as next week, but it appears that Brighton are still in negotiations over the transfer fee.
Celtic are hoping to get £20m for Edouard, although they may now be open to selling for less than their current asking price, with interest from other teams having not materialised.
Arsenal, West Ham and Southampton have all been mentioned as potential destinations for the Frenchman but Brighton seem to be the firm favourites for the striker’s signature.
