Bristol City have confirmed that Niclas Eliasson has signed for Nimes for an undisclosed fee. The former Sweden Under 21 international has been linked with a move to Celtic in recent months but he has opted to make the switch to Ligue One instead.

The Hoops are actively looking for a new left wingback before the transfer window closes on Monday evening, and Eliasson was believed to be on their list of targets. However, it appears that Head of Football Operations Nick Hammond is eyeing other options.

A final offer for Charlton’s Alfie Doughty is believed to be in the works, while Celtic have been linked with a surprise loan move for Tottenham’s Ryan Sessegnon in recent days. With the Scottish champions having lost both Boli Bolingoli and Jonny Hayes in recent months, reinforcements are needed on the left flank.

Greg Taylor has had a solid start to the season, but many feel that the club need an alternative who can provide more of a threat in the attacking third of the pitch.
