Celtic are weighing up a possible move for Eibar goalkeeper Marko Dmitrovic, according to reports in the Scottish media.
The 28-year-old’s current deal runs out in the summer and he could be signed on a pre-contract agreement in the New Year. He is an experienced keeper, with 16 caps for Serbia, and he has been a first-team regular in the top flight of Spanish football for the last three years.
Hoops boss Neil Lennon is looking for another number one, following Vasilis Barkas’s struggles since his arrival from AEK Athens at the start of the season. The Greek international, along with number two Scott Bain, have failed to convince between the sticks this campaign.
Dmitrovic has shown himself to be a decent shot-stopper, having kept clean sheets in 29% of his matches for Eibar, but Celtic will likely have to fight off competition for the player, both due to his experience and the fact that he is available for free.
