Celtic have reignited their interest in Peterborough forward Siriki Dembele, according to reports in the UK.

The 24-year-old, who is Karamoko Dembele’s older brother, was first linked with a switch to Parkhead back in December. Other teams, including Rangers, Wolves, Fulham, Crystal Palace, Derby, Sheffield Wednesday and Nottingham Forest are also said to be keeping tabs on the player.

It was revealed a couple of months ago that Dembele would be allowed to leave Peterborough at the end of the season, after initially handing in a transfer request.

A £3m asking price has been mentioned, but it is difficult to see how such a fee could be justified, considering his performances for the Posh in League One this season.

Dembele has scored just eight goals in all competitions, although it must be said, he hasn’t exclusively played as a striker. He has been employed as a number ten and out on the wing as well,  having contributed 12 assists. Whether that will be enough to convince Celtic into paying up, we shall see.
