Celtic scout Craig Strachan was in the stands as Bristol City won 2-1 against Reading on Wednesday night, according to Bristol World reporter Gregor MacGregor.

The journalist claims that the Hoops were keeping tabs on forward Antoine Semenyo, who scored the opening goal for City during the week.

Semenyo has been in excellent form in recent months, having scored five goals and contributed five assists in his last 10 league matches.

However, it is believed that the Robins value Semenyo at around £15m, with the Championship side expecting another £5m in add-ons.

If that is the forward’s true valuation then it’s hard to see Celtic making a move for the striker this summer, but the player’s contract does expire at the end of next season.

Talks over an extension have begun but if Semenyo doesn’t put pen to paper on a new deal, the Hoops could well swoop in next January and snap up the 22-year-old on a pre-contract agreement.
