Celtic right-back Anthony Ralston has been included in WhoScored.com‘s “Best XI” for the group stages of the Europa League.
The 23-year-old averaged a score of 7.0 over the five games he played in, with the defender even getting on the scoresheet in the 4-3 defeat to Real Betis in the opening group fixture.
Two West Ham players (Declan Rice and Aaron Cresswell), Galatasaray’s Fernando Muslera & Marcao, Monaco defender Benoit Badiashile and Real Sociedad’s Adnan Januzaj were also named. Red Star Belgrade midfielder Mirko Ivanic, Lyon’s Karl Toko Ekambi, Bayer Leverkusen attacking midfielder Florian Wirtz and Braga’s Ricardo Horta made up the rest of the eleven:

Ralston’s development this season under manager Ange Postecoglou has been seriously impressive. Nobody expected the fullback to feature prominently after playing only once last campaign but, after being given his chance back in July, he has not looked back. The defender deserves all the accolades that come his way.
