Chelsea are seriously considering an offer for Southampton goalkeeper Fraser Forster, according to reports in the English media.
There were claims in the Scottish press last week that one of the Premier League’s top four were after the 32-year-old and it appears Frank Lampard’s side are the team in question.
Celtic boss Neil Lennon has not hidden his desire to re-sign Forster for next season after a successful loan spell at Parkhead.
However, the Saints have reportedly slapped a £10m asking price on the former England international which could rule the Hoops out of the running.
Whether Chelsea’s interest is genuine, we shall have to wait and see. The Blues are believed to be a looking for a new keeper this summer, with current number one Kepa Arrizabalaga having failed to impress in goal.
The Spaniard was actually dropped for a 38-year-old, Willy Caballero, earlier this year, leading to speculation that the London club will seek a replacement. Celtic fans will be hoping that Forster is not the man they target.
