Celtic have not tabled a bid for Wolfsberger striker Shon Weissman, according to the Scottish Sun. A “source” at the Hoops has told them they have not made a move for the Israeli international.

The forward has scored 37 goals in all competitions this season, and Wolfsberger president Dietmar Riegler had named Celtic as one of the teams who are interested in the player.

Weissmann has just one year left on his current deal and the Scottish Sun suggest that the 24-year-old could well be available for a “cut-price” fee.

With the controversy surrounding Leigh Griffiths’ fitness, an attempt to sign another striker cannot be ruled out, although the likelihood of Weissman moving to Celtic Park is still relatively low.

The Israeli is said to be keen on moving to either Germany or England, but his only offers so far have come from Russia and, if you believe Riegler, Scotland. It may be a player that the club revisit later in the summer if he is still on the market.
