Brighton goalkeeper Maty Ryan is set to move to Real Sociedad, according to reports in the local media.
The Australian international has been heavily linked with both Celtic and Arsenal in recent weeks but it appears the 29-year-old is returning to Spain, where he previously had a two-year spell with Valencia.
Most Hoops supporters on Twitter are pretty blase about the news with some feeling that Ryan was only linked with a switch to Celtic Park in the first place because of Ange Postecoglou:
Don’t think it was ever really realistic. Spent 5 million on a keeper last summer

This will be a recurring theme.

Tbf he’s on big wages and I think Barkas will be given a chance this season under Ange. I’m hoping we make a signing this week! ?

I think Barkas was always getting a chance at the start of this season. Hopefully he can take it. ???

The thought of barkas starting in goal for us is giving me the fear seen absolutely nothing last year to suggest he can turn it around at us got to have had the worst shots on target to goals ratio of any celtic keeper ever ?♂️

It doesn’t seem likely at this stage that Celtic will sign a new number one this summer. Considering there are more pressing issues in other areas of the pitch, that is not surprising.
However, if Vasilis Barkas does start the season as first choice, he has a lot to do to prove himself to fans after struggling badly in his first season at the Scottish club.
