Cameron Carter-Vickers is being encouraged to sign for Celtic on a permanent basis by members of his own camp, according to the Daily Record.
The Hoops do have the option to sign the 24-year-old for £6m from Tottenham at the end of his loan spell this summer, but the final decision will be the player’s.
Wolves, Leicester and Burnley are also said to be interested in Carter-Vickers and a return to England to play regularly in the Premier League could well tempt the defender.
However, the American’s entourage believe staying at Parkhead would be the best move for his career. The centre-back has thrived since being signed by Celtic in the summer, and there is more than one reason to extend his stay.
Not only would Carter-Vickers be a key player in a successful team, he could feature in the Champions League group stages next season if the Hoops do secure the Scottish Premiership title.
