The future of Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard has filled a lot of column inches in newspapers (and on this website) over the past few months.
However, a lot of the rumours linking the Frenchman with moves to clubs like Leicester, Arsenal and Liverpool haven’t really led to any genuine bids for the player in question. Fabrizio Romano, a trusted journalist when it comes to transfer rumours, does though believe the 23-year-old will leave Celtic Park this summer, and he names one Italian club who may make a move for him:
“Roma are interested in him. If Dzeko moves on from Roma they will look for another striker. There are lots of opportunities for him but I think for sure this summer he will have chances to leave the club.”
Romano also revealed that Inter Milan tried to sign Edouard on loan last summer, with an option to buy, but the offer was unsurprisingly rejected by Celtic. Other “important bids” were also knocked back with the Frenchman eventually deciding to stay put in Scotland.
With just one year remaining on his current deal, though, a departure this summer looks almost certain. Whether he’ll end up in Italy or England, we shall have to wait and see.
