Leicester City are the favourites to sign Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard in the summer, according to Goal‘s Arsenal correspondent Charles Watts.
Arsenal, Roma and Liverpool have also been mentioned as possible destinations for the France Under 21 international but Watts believes the Foxes are the team who are the likeliest to snap up the 23-year-old:
“From what I am hearing suggests that Leicester are the frontrunners for that one.”
There had been claims last week that no club is willing to match the Hoops’ £20m asking price for Edouard but we shall see how things develop over the coming weeks and months.
With the Frenchman’s contract expected to run down into its final twelve months, the summer will be the last opportunity for Celtic to get a decent fee for the forward.
It will be interesting to find out whether competition for Edouard increases if he finishes the season strongly, but the striker has now scored just one goal in his last five games, and that sort of form is hardly going to attract potential suitors.
