Following Celtic’s abject 0-0 draw against Livingston at the weekend, there are growing calls for Neil Lennon to step down as manager.
With hopes of ten in a row all but extinguished, supporters are desperate to see a shake-up, both in the backroom staff and in the hierarchy of the club.
Former Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe remains among the favourites to replace Lennon and fans on Twitter are mostly behind the 43-year-old taking up the reins:
He’s an obsessive tactical and competent manager. Improves players and plays attacking football, get him in!

Eddie Howe is probably the best we can hope for. Young manager with professional standards and plenty of potential. If we want to progress then it’s regime change. Lawwell and Lennon have had their time with Celtic, blew our most vital season with complacency and arrogance.

Looking at that info you`ve got to think Howe would be a considerable step up from NL, he`s learnt his trade going up through the divisions in England & kept a smallish club in the top flight for 5 seasons, his style of play would be easier on the eye than what`s on offer now.

He would be my choice . Sadly I think tbe board wi think the exact opposite

It’s a no brainer

5 years in the EPL, 4 successful, with a club with that environment and appeal, is an amazing achievement.

Fresh ideas & approach. New back room team to rejuvenate & steer us forward with who stays, who goes & potential signings! A risk worth taking!

Read last night that Howe was now favourite for the Newcastle job. If he is the Clubs number 1 choice they need to go and get him now!

Outstanding candidate. At this stage…

It remains to be seen how majority shareholder Dermot Desmond will go about things. There have been reports that CEO Peter Lawwell will step down at the end of the season so a decision on a new manager may have to wait until then.
There are, of course, no guarantees that Howe will still be available by then and, currently, the club seems prepared for a lengthy period of inaction until the summer, which won’t please supporters in the slightest.
