Harry Redknapp thinks Eddie Howe could be a target for a number of Premier League teams in the summer.

The former Bournemouth manager has been out of work since August after leaving the Vitality Stadium. He has been heavily linked with the Celtic job but, when asked about the 43-year-old’s future, Redknapp said he could well stay in England:

“Eddie was massive odds-on for the Celtic job a few weeks back. There’s absolutely no chance he’ll go back to Bournemouth. No chance. But I think Eddie will get back into the game come the summer. There will be a Premier League club for Eddie, I think he’ll come back.”

At the bookmakers, Howe has dropped to fifth in the running to replace Neil Lennon at Celtic Park. The current favourite is Scotland manager Steve Clarke, with Rafa Benitez also being heavily backed by punters.

There are no signs, at the moment, that Celtic are looking to dispense with the services of Lennon. The general feeling is a decision will be made on the Irishman’s future at the end of the season when new chief executive Dominic McKay is appointed. However, by then, the likes of Howe could have already been snapped up by another club.
