Ferencvaros sporting director Tamas Hajnal has said that he has not had any contact with Celtic about signing forward Ryan Mmaee.

The Moroccan international was linked with a move to the Scottish champions earlier this week but, when asked about the transfer rumours, Hajnal said he was not aware of any interest from the Hoops and he backed the player to stay put:

“At the moment, however, I can’t report anything specific about this. Ryan is recovering from his injury anyway and I am sure he will stay with us this summer.”

The links with signing Mmaee were somewhat of a surprise anyway, considering that Celtic are already well-stocked in attacking areas. The main focus for the summer is believed to be on recruiting a new left-back, a centre-back, a midfielder and another right-winger.

Mmaee has pretty much solely played as a centre forward during his recent spells with Limassol and Ferencvaros so you’d have to say that, even if he was being scouted, he would be very far down the list of priorities for the summer transfer window.
