Celtic very much remain in the race to sign Southampton goalkeeper Fraser Forster, according to the Sun‘s Alan Nixon.
It was reported last week that the deal to bring the 32-year-old back to Parkhead had stalled due to the keeper’s unwillingness to go on another loan spell. However, Nixon claims the Hoops are still in negotiations to sign the shot-stopper:
Still working on it. Usual haggling. He is the one they really want. https://t.co/P4buPzKXyO

One possible outcome is that Forster moves to Celtic on loan once more, but with an obligation to buy at the end of the season.
All clubs will be reluctant to pay significant amounts upfront this summer due to the financial impact of the global health crisis so a loan to buy arrangement could be best for all parties.
Of course, Forster’s wages will likely prove to be a major stumbling block. The former England international is said to be earning £70,000 a week, but if that obstacle can be overcome, a deal could be in reach.
