Celtic are struggling to agree personal terms with Royal Antwerp right-back Aurelio Buta, according to the Daily Record journalist Scott Burns.
The reporter says the Hoops have reached an agreement over a transfer fee for the 24-year-old but the player’s salary demands have not been met so far:
Celtic have agreed a deal with Antwerp. Agreeing personal terms with the player has been the issue. He is not looking for bank-breaking money either. https://t.co/MsZPy9HKeu

Buta could be Celtic’s eighth summer signing after Joe Hart‘s transfer from Tottenham, and James McCarthy’s arrival on a free were both confirmed by the club. The two players have joined Kyogo Furuhashi, Carl Starfelt, Liel Abada, Liam Shaw and Osaze Urhoghide in moving to Parkhead.
Despite the number of additions to the squad, manager Ange Postecoglou is still lacking numbers in key positions, particularly at right-back.
It is therefore hoped that Celtic find a breakthrough in their negotiations with Buta. The first team is in desperate need of strengthening after the Hoops suffered some serious setbacks in the opening weeks of the season, both in Europe and domestically after their defeat to Hearts at the weekend.
