Nice are expected to make a formal bid for Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard, according to reports in the English media.
The Ligue One side could well see off competition from the likes of Brighton and Crystal Palace for the 23-year-old’s signature with the Premier League sides unwilling to meet the forward’s salary demands.
It is believed that Edouard wants £85,000 a week, which has put off a number of teams from making a move for the former France Under 21 international this summer.
The Hoops are keen to prevent Edouard from leaving for nothing next year, but they have slapped a £20m price tag on the player despite his contract situation.
Arsenal, West Ham, Leicester, Roma and AC Milan have also been mentioned as potential suitors for Edouard in recent months, but it does seem as though Nice are his likeliest destination at the present time. It remains to be seen, though, whether the French side can meet Celtic’s valuation.
