Burnley manager Sean Dyche says the Clarets have not given up hope of keeping winger Robbie Brady beyond the end of the season.

The Republic of Ireland international’s contract expires in June and he is allowed to speak to clubs outside of England about a free transfer in the summer.

Celtic have been mentioned as a possible destination for Brady but Dyche says conversations are continuing with the player as they look to find an agreement over a new deal:

“The talks with all players are ongoing, no matter what level of contact they’ve got, other than the lads which have just literally signed.”

With just months remaining on his contract, it does seem more likely than not that the Irishman will be leaving Turf Moor. Burnley did have the same issue with Jeff Hendrick, who left for Newcastle, last year, so Celtic may have a good chance of securing Brady’s signature.

The Hoops are short of options on the wing and the 29-year-old could be an economical solution to strengthen a weak area of the squad.
