Crystal Palace are pursuing Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah, according to reports, having seemingly cooled their interest in Celtic’s Odsonne Edouard.
Some Hoops supporters on Twitter are perplexed as to why the Eagles would favour Nketiah over Edouard, while others are frustrated that the Frenchman wasn’t sold earlier this summer:
Mental decision, they could get Eddy for the same price as theyll likely pay for Nketiah and Eddy is twice the player.

it’s his wage demands that are putting clubs off

I’d say we’d take 5mil at this stage if he’s not going to extend. He’s demanding huge wages now as he knows he can hang around for a few months and get a 2mil signing bonus as a free agent. Crazy from the board he should have been gone months ago for 20-30m

His value isn’t the issue, it’s his wage demands. He’s demanding 85k a week apparently

There is now a real danger that Edouard will not be sold by the end of the month, meaning he will be able to speak to clubs in January about a free transfer next year.
Not all of the blame can be pinned on Celtic. As some fans have mentioned, it is also thought that Edouard has been demanding £85,000 a week. Combined with his asking price, the cost of the transfer has scared off a number of teams already.
There is still, however, a week to go before deadline day and a club may yet come in with a last-minute bid for the forward.
